Creating an Environmentally Sustainable Maritime Industry
(CESMI) - from Ocean to Shore

Invitation to speakers

This letter is an invitation to submit a presentation proposal for the Conference: Creating an Environmentally Sustainable Maritime Industry (CESMI) - from Ocean to Shore.

Please send us your proposal including an abstract (approx. half letter/A4 size page), title of talk, company name, name of presenter, and phone and e-mail to proposals@cesmiforum.org no later than JANUARY 16, 2015.

We seek proposals from speakers with an environmental sustainability focus
in the following main areas:

- Ocean
Ship design, ship systems (e.g. propulsion, power, power management, emission reducing, and HVAC), hull coatings, electrification, ocean power, etc.

- Shore
Power systems, port cargo handling systems (automation), construction, monitoring, and more.

- Ocean and Shore
Ballast water, CO2 capture/storage, regulations, Government incentives, sustainable business solutions, LNG, Arctic challenges, etc.

We are inviting you to present your ideas, whether they are solid and grounded, innovative, and even potentially game changing. The ceiling is high. We are looking for talks covering lessons learned, research and development, specific solutions, regulatory measures, financial incentives, and other areas that you see as essential for successfully “Creating an Environmentally Sustainable Maritime Industry.”

Our objective is to create a forum in Los Angeles where global maritime industry leaders, researchers, and Government Officials can meet, share ideas, and develop business and research opportunities, with the aim of creating a highly environmentally sustainable and profitable maritime industry. To achieve this, the conference will feature talks with specific focal points combined with panel discussions for reviewing selected topics from multiple angles.

Target audience

Senior level decision makers, technology experts, and innovators from large ports, shipping companies, ship builders, ship systems, port cargo handling systems, power systems - and ocean power developers, research organizations, maritime industry organizations, and Government.
